Margaret Berger grew up in Hitra, Norway, before she moved to Trondheim. She studied music at Heimdal Videregående (High School).

She entered Norwegian Idol in 2004, and became the underdog who barely survived week after week. At the end she ended up second. A little later, she got a record deal, and released her first album, "Chameleon", late 2004. She had one big hit from this record ("Lifetime Guarantee") and two minor radiohits ("Mind Game" and "This is Perfect"). She spent 2005 touring festivals and schools as a part in a huge cultural project for students and kids in Trondheim and writing songs for her new album.

In the summer of 2006 she returned with the song "Samantha", which bacame a huge hit in Norway. Margaret has a current hit called "Will You Remember me Tomorrow" and her second album "Pretty Scary Silver Fairy" will be released October 2nd, 2006.
